Text messaging
Last updated: August 23, 2026
This page is the public record of the ToBetter100 text messaging program: who sends the messages, what they say, exactly how a person opts in, and how they stop. It is published so that anyone can read the opt-in language without an account.
The program
- Brand: ToBetter100, operated by RPTRAINOR LLC.
- Program: ToBetter100 (messages from your family assistant, Betty).
- What we send: conversational replies from Betty, your family's daily briefing, task and event reminders, and family invitations you or your family start.
- Who it is between: messaging is 1:1 between one person and Betty, about that person's own family account. Every message is account related.
- What we never send: no marketing, no promotional offers, no political or charitable content, and no third-party content of any kind. We never message anyone on behalf of another company.
The opt-in disclosure
This is the disclosure shown in the app beside the button that grants consent, word for word:
By opting in you agree to receive recurring text messages from ToBetter100: conversational replies from Betty, your family's daily briefing, task and event reminders, and family invitations you or your family start. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help. Reply STOP to cancel.
The page and the app render that sentence from one source in our code, so the two cannot drift apart.
How a person opts in
There are two paths, and both end with the subscriber themselves acting. Every grant is recorded with a timestamp, the person who granted it, and the surface they granted it on. Nobody is ever added to the program by someone else.
1. By text, with a double opt-in
A parent can add a helper to their family by phone number so that Betty can text them the plans that involve them: a grandparent, a nanny, a neighbor who does the school run. That number has not agreed to anything yet, so Betty sends exactly one message and nothing else:
Hi Marta! Betty here, from ToBetter100. Ryan added you as a caregiver, so I can text you the family plans that involve you. Reply YES to start or STOP to opt out. Message and data rates may apply.
Nothing further is sent to that number unless the person replies YES from the handset itself. Their reply is the consent. If they reply STOP, or simply never reply, they hear nothing more from us and the family is told their texts are not reaching them. A YES earns one confirmation, which restates the program terms:
You're in. I'll text you the family plans that involve you, from ToBetter100. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help or STOP to stop.
2. In the app, when a texted invitation is accepted
A family invitation sent by text carries a link. Opening it shows the opt-in disclosure above, beside a single button that reads "Join this family". Pressing that button is the opt-in, and it is the only thing on the screen that grants anything. Before it can take effect, the visitor is asked to send themselves a one-time code, which is delivered to the same number the invitation went to and checked against it on our servers, so only the person holding that handset can join. The disclosure is repeated on that step, beside the button that finishes the join.
A person who joins a family by email is never enrolled in text messaging. No number, no messages.
Frequency, rates, HELP and STOP
Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help. Reply STOP to cancel.
STOP and HELP are answered before anything else happens, and they work even from a number we have never seen before. Here is exactly what each one gets back:
| You text | We reply |
|---|---|
| HELP | ToBetter100 helps families coordinate. Support: support@tobetter100.com. Reply STOP to unsubscribe. |
| STOP | You have been unsubscribed from ToBetter100. Reply START to opt back in. |
| START | You are re-subscribed to ToBetter100. Reply STOP to unsubscribe again. |
After you reply STOP we send one confirmation and then stop texting you. Reply START to opt back in. Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. For help with the messaging program, write to support@tobetter100.com.
Your number and your consent
Phone numbers are never purchased, sold, rented, or shared with third parties, and consent is never shared between brands. A grant given to ToBetter100 covers ToBetter100 only. We do not share mobile opt-in information or SMS consent with any third party or affiliate for their own marketing or promotional purposes, under any circumstances.
Your mobile opt-in data and consent are used only to operate ToBetter100's messaging program, and your number is shared with our messaging provider (Twilio) only as needed to deliver the messages you asked for. Opt-out records are kept after you leave the program, because that record is what stops us from texting you again.
The rest of the terms
The full messaging terms live under "SMS messaging terms" in our Terms and Conditions, and how we handle the information from this program lives under "Text messaging" in our Privacy Policy.
